Future Terms of Service Addendum

This is where all the announcements will be placed. Major announcements will be made global. At this early stage, the welcome center will have a lot of attention, but don't worry, it will become less important later.

Future Terms of Service Addendum

Postby Ren Saiyuri on Sat Apr 18, 2009 11:46 am

I'm just putting this out there not so much for current users (actually not at all for current users), but due to present and obvious security risk I'm considering cutting the time new users are allotted to post to the introduction forum down to no more then 72 hours. I keep noticing user names with an obvious random factor (KAu2iUAF39A for instance) confirming themselves. In the span of a week, a spam bot can go into our list of members, compile all the emails on the list, and start sending out spam to everyone. Then a malbot can attach Trojans and worms to those spam emails, infecting our computers and getting the emails from our address books. Which it will then use to send emails to those emails, and slowing down your computer in the process. So to be honest with you all, even 3 days is cutting it close, but I don't think Mich would like cutting it down anymore then this. I'll speak with him when I call him later today, but I'm just wondering if you of you have any opinions in the matter.
